I’ve spent my entire life illustrating, doodling, creating and crafting in some capacity. From the large to the small, both digital and hand-made. I have painted murals for city festivals, cut out sculptures for corporate fundraisers, hand painted dishes for Fingerhut catalog (yes. I said that=look it up) made small clay sculptures of characters for gifts, pop up cards, illustrated children's books, editorial cartoons, multi-dimensional mandalas and stickers and pins for brands, and that's just my illustration work. I also have designed for foodie shows, branded a cheesesteak franchise, designed (hundreds?) of logos for companies and literally built a brand for an award-winning and highly successful ice cream franchise.
Phew! What am I passionate about?
All of it!
Illustration: I'm drawn to bold, bright colors of a pop art style and also the soft, subtle hues of a watercolor. Clean, crisp borders and messy expressions of coloring outside of the lines. My style of illustration is often described as humorous, playful and child-like. Something that makes people smile.
Creative Direction/Design: My professional career is heavily concentrated in graphic design and I am highly skilled in Adobe suite. Illustration has always had an important role in my career in some measure. I'm always seeking new challenges and striving for excellence in all that I do. Having fun is key and I believe that it's essential in order to foster creativity. If you're not having fun, you might as well pack it in. Work best in teams of creatives where ideas can flow.
I am highly proficient on a Mac. Illustrator & Photoshop are my jam. But also super comfortable with InDesign, Dreamweaver, After Effects and of course, to live in this world, Microsoft programs; Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Teams. Workzone, and some HTML and CSS.
I live in Pittsburgh, PA with my two crazy cats. My happy: Friends, music, good food, an occasional good bourbon, giant sculptures and British TV.
